Brian Connolly is one of Bbeyond’s founder members and has recently retired as an associate lecturer in Fine Art from the Belfast School of Art.

Brian will be making performance for the 175th anniversary of the Belfast School of Art - Celebrating Past, Present and Future. The School is the oldest school within Ulster University and this 175th anniversary year sees an exciting programme of events to celebrate the milestone.

Brian Connolly/Bbeyond

Brian Connolly works with a variety of artistic media. He employs various performance art strategies and his works can often be durational and site-specific.  He initiated a performance art genre called ‘Install-action’ and has performed in Europe, North America and Asia.

He is committed to the ‘artist run’ sector and is a founding member of Bbeyond and the Belfast International Festival of Performance Art.
