Jayne Cherry

Jayne Cherry is an artist living and working in the countryside of Co.Down Northern Ireland and was brought up with a deep respect for the people we live among, the ground we walk on and all life forms it supports. Taking this as her  starting point of her work, she believes in the essence of the object and the memory it holds.

Investigation of materials and their transformation is part of the process that Cherry uses to re -work and re-examine the meanings of the world around us and within us.

Conflict within domestic and public settings and how we recover and proceed has been a subject that Cherry continually investigates.

Our perception and reaction to death and other references to our own mortality hold her fascination and  she uses performance actions keep her attached to the realness of her existence.
